reason that we review this motherboard is because
we've been using it and proven to be very stable,
reliable plus we want to start review things our
way in Malaysia. I've been using this motherboard
which houses my AMD K7 600MHZ for around 4 months
now and I've not encounter any problems with installation
including usage. As you already know K7Pro is going
to be phased out soon due that the newer AMD 750
chipset uses VIA's KX133 chipset which offer support
for 4x AGP and PC133. As the jump from AGP 2x to
AGP 4x doesn't provide any significance boost in
the system plus the PC133 would be a great choice
for overclockers as you would be able to push the
edge further than normal PC100 rams. I don't see
the reason why you can't this almost phased out
soon motherboard for those who plan to buy a new
motherboard. The motherboard houses the AMD Irongate
chipset (NorthBridge) and the AMD 756 Viper chipset
(SouthBridge). The motherboard offers support for
AGP 1x /AGP 2x, 768MB of 3.3v PC100 SDRAM 168-pin
unbuffered DIMM, 100Mhz FSB (200Mhz Internal System
Bus). The motherboard also offer six generous amount
of PCI slots, one 16 bit ISA slot, one AGP slot,
two serial ports, one prallel port supports SPP/EPP/ECP
mode, 4 USB ports and one IrDA connector for SIR.
The on board IDE controller provide support to IDE
HDD / CD-ROM with PIO and Ultra DMA / 66 operation
modes up to 4 IDE drives. An optional on board audio
is also available for those who want to save a PCI
slot. The BIOS on my board is AMI v1.2 which provides
some nifty configuration for over clocking. Some
of you hardcore overclockers might wonder "How FAR
could I go with this thing?".I've managed to overclocked
the FSB setting of 119Mhz which is running at 717MHz
speed with almost of 120 Mhz gain in speed. Bear
in mind that at this speed, you ought to provide
effective cooling solutions if not you might end
up with system crashes and maybe a fried ATHLON.
Slot A for AMD(R) AthlonTM processor.
